Holsters typically come in three different ride heights: hi-ride carry places the butt of the pistol just above the belt line, mid-ride places the butt of the firearm in line with the belt and low-ride places the butt below the belt. Most Bianchi holsters are designed for hi-ride carry but there are a few mid-ride options as well.
Hi-Ride
Since hi-ride holsters sit higher on the hip, the firearm is positioned close and tight to the body, which make them optimal for concealment. Hi-ride holsters are also comfortable to wear while sitting in a vehicle and are ideal for everyday carry.
Mid-Ride
Mid and low-ride holsters are often designed for law enforcement/military. These holsters clear body armor better than hi-ride holsters and some people find that having the butt of the pistol at or just below the belt line allows for a quicker draw. Bianchi doesn’t manufacture tactical leather holsters but there is a small selection of mid-ride concealable holsters available.
